I finally caught up to the times yesterday, kinda. My string broke on my Alpine the other day and while I was at the shop getting a new one I went ahead and got some carbon arrows, a whisker biscuit, and some limb savers. Those things with my new quiver and sights will all be good to use on a brand new bow when/if I ever buy one. It is a little more quiet and seems a little faster too. I'm shooting it as well as I was but I'll get it dialed in soon enough.

I did the same thing last year. Put about $380 into my bow, shot it about a dozen times, then bought the new bow for this year.... :D

Threedays and counting for me.... I can't wait!!!

12 days... Went to Bass Pro today and got my Tekkan II's, an illuminock to try and some waifers before the shelves are barren next week.

Yea, I'm pretty happy with it. Except Sunday morning I broke the broadheads out and realized that I was shooting 100 grain field points and my BH's are 125 grain[&:]
Got some new tips and we're all good now though.;)

Going to set two more stands tomorrow for later in the season.
Hopefully I'll see some bucks, nights are getting cooler so maybe they will move a little later in the day.

One more week for me.... Cant wait to get out there...

I was fortunate to be drawn in a lottery to hunt a Park loaded with deer. The park was hunted for the 1st time last year. There are deer extremely overpopulated in the park so we are hunting it to thin the herd. I know last year there was over 10 bucks taken from the park in the 150 to 170 class Bucks. I was lucky enough to be drawn for a certainzone of the park that my boss is very familier with and he has informed me that there are some awesome bucks in the area. Its a take a doe 1st hunt before you can take a Buck.... the place is covered with white oaks and acorns are everwhere!!!! They are also requiring bowhunters to pass a proficency shooting test to be allowed to bowhunt the park. The test requires a bowhunter to of been deemed to have passed the test if they can shoot 4 out of 5 arrows in the spots of a NFAA indoor 5Spot Target.We will be the ones hosting the testing at the Archery Pro Shop I work at. I'll be bowhunting at the park from Oct 29th- November 4th.The park has a river running thru it and is surrounded by corn and bean fields.
I also will be hunting a privately owned tree farm that is bordered by woods and a creek and corn and bean fields. Ill be bowhunting this property all season.
I will also be bowhunting a county park that is a pay to hunt park , its full of great deer and tons of turkeys:DIll also be bowhunting this park all season, its one of my favorite hunting spots.
And I will be bowhunting Brown county where it meets with Pike and Adams County on a Womens Only Bowhunt that a friend of mine whom is an outfitter hosts every year... its a blast... I'll be there from Oct 17th-21st.
I am ready to get out bowhunting, hopefully the weather will start to cool down even more .... I am ready for a frost;)

I'm still here......was on vacation last week through the weekend in the Outer Banks of NC dodging Hurricane Ophelia.[:-]

By some dumb luck it approached us and swung out to sea......couldn't swim in the ocean the whole time as the surf was WICKED. But the weather overall was beautiful if not a little "Breezy";)

I have 10 more days to go here. Bow's ready to rock. I almsot don't want to shoot at night anymore because nothing changes and I'm wrecking arrows shooting at the 3D targets!:D
