The level of respect is commeasurate with the level of effort expended to take the animal.So the DIY situation in my opinion garners more respect. Humility though is the trait that I most admire in folks,so I wouldn't respect bragging in either instance.If a hunter is good it will be obvious to anyone.If someone has to blow their own horn they are either not that good or insecure.
