bigdog02,
I checked out several of the stands rated for big men.
My favorites were as follows.
1 Buckshot Big Shot Mag
2 Ol'Man Grand MultiVision
3 Summit Goliath
4 API Grandslam Supermag
I went with the Bigshot Mag because it's the strongest of the bunch and you never will need to replace cables or chains like you might with the others.
It uses metal V-bars to attach to trees from 10" to 22"
You can hunt facing the tree or away.
With the sliding back rest adjusted properly in the facing the tree position, it's the most comfortable tree stand made.
Even more comfortable than my Doc's Recliner or a Tree Lounge and far more stable than either too.
The down side is the 32lb weight.
I found, I could carry mine 500yds to and from my hunting area without any fatigue but wouldn't want to pack it for long distances.
Considering how comfortable and well built it is, I can deal with the weight.
I will probably get a Lone Wolf sit & climb for packing the longer distances next year.
To me, that's the only way to go anyway. Have a bigger stand for all day hunts and a smaller companion portable stand for packing long distances when you feel like exploring new areas.
The Grand MultiVision is a tremendous stand with lots of room too and lighter than the BuckShot.
It is very comfortable and has lots of leg room and the new expanded arm rests are great for bulky clothing.
The Goliath is a great stand too but I like the Buckshot and Grand Multivision better because of the extra room they had for my upper body.
Even though I only weigh 240 lbs, my chest measures 50" and I have wide shoulders. I need the extra room of the bigger stands, especially when wearing my 3XL and 4XL hunting jackets.
The Big Shot Mag and Grand Multivision are perfect for big guys with wide shoulders.
You can get a free video from BuckShot at their website.

I bought my Buckshot Mag. from my friend Pinwheel 12 at his
http://www.pinwheelproducts.com website.
You can order it without the safety rail and backrest to save weight.
Big mistake, get the rail and backrest.
Sag.
