I too shoot a 27" draw - and let me tell you - you are going to have to work to get to 280fps. 260 is easily do-able but getting to 280 will be work! I shot a Pro 38 for spots & 3d this season and was able to get it to 280 - I picked up my Patriot before hunting season & have yet to get a 350gr arrow through it but when I do I can let you know what it clocks at (should do that this week)...

My Pat & 38 are both 70# bows however, not 60#. I'm quite certain the 38 is faster than the Patriot & there's no way at 60# my 38 would hit 280.

My Pat at 70#, 27", 444 gr arrow at about 250 fps.

I'll get a 350gr arrow through the Pat this week & let you know what happens but in any event you won't be dissapointed with the Patriot - but I would also encourage waiting a few weeks for the 03s unless you are going to buy the EXACT same 02 and the dealer is going to give you a steeper discount on the 02.
