Default RE: how does walmart do it!

ORIGINAL: HuntinGUS

I started a thread several months back regarding Walmart vs pro shops when buying broadheads. I had a question about the quality because the performance and durability was very noticable. The walmart muzzy's broke or became burred after shooting a deer. I had never had that problem out of Muzzy's before.

Do I think Wal-mart squeezes companies to make cheaper products........yes! Here is another link regarding "Snapper" mowers that helped me make my decision. Enjoy!

"The Wal-Mart vice president responded with strategy and argument. Snapper is the sort of high-quality nameplate, like Levi Strauss, that Wal-Mart hopes can ultimately make it more Target-like. He suggested that Snapper find a lower-cost contract manufacturer. He suggested producing a separate, lesser-quality line with the Snapper nameplate just for Wal-Mart. Just like Levi did."

That is COMPLETELY different than saying that the Remington 700 ADL at Wal-Mart is a cheap knock-off compared to the Remington 700 ADL at a local sporting goods store. Most manufacturers do that kind of stuff. Marlin had Glenfield. Remington had Mohawk. It's done with Refrigerators, Air Conditioners, etc., etc., etc. But, that's not the same as producing an inferior version of the same product to sell at Wal-Mart and trying to pass the inferior version off as equal to the other.
