I've already weighed in on this one in a previous thread; but comparing the two calibers . . . . . the 6.5-284 is very similar in performance to a .270 Winchester. It has outstanding long range accuracy and shoots bullets with very good ballistic coefficient.
The 6MM-284, as a varmint caliber, is like a great big turbo charged .22-250. There is really nothing else in this performance class. Check out the external ballistics for a 70 grain Nosler ballisic tip at 4,000 fps. It's hard to believe how flat this gun shoots . . . .
