ive killed 4 deer with 100 grn shockwaves ut of a horton crossbow. they've done a good job for me, complete passthroughs on three does and none ran over 50 yards. the last one this year was a 175 lb 8 pt, the first shot hit him in the spine (my fault), then i got down and had to shoot him again. he was flopping his front end around really bad so i accidently hit him in the shoulder not getting any penetration. finally the last shot i put a 125 grn thunder head through his lungs. im switching to fixed blades this year because the ferrule was bent BAD on the one that hit his spine, and the one that hit his shoulder blade was broke completely in half, the thunderhead just needs to be cleaned! the heads worked perfectly and stayed in tack on the three does though.
