I blew it yesterday!
In the morning I had a nice, really nice, buck coming towards my stand.
He got one look at my decoy and snorted and ran off the other way?
Why did I have to see the only gay buck in the woods?
Closest he got was 74 yards.
Had a spike come thru about 45 minutes later but let him walk.
Yesterday afternoon at 5 pm I had a tall 6 point come in. showed some interest in my decoy but the closest he would come in was 43 yards. I missed him. Went right over his back by about 2 inches, ARRRRRRRG!
To top if all off I can't find the arrow, it went into the woods. Brand new arrow with a brand new Tekan II on it. I'll look for it next Sunday when it is daylight out and hope to find it. Otherwise it's about 30.00 down the drain. Oh, well, the price you pay.
My hunting partner also saw a bruiser in the afternoon but it never offered a shot.
Hope the rest of you did better.
