Default RE: Need Help with Mounts

Go to this website: http://www.natchezss.com Order this part number: BU410588, they're burris dual dovetail bases for the savage rifles, they're two piece so they work for all the savage models, long action or short action. They cost $16.33.

Next you'll need a set of dual dovetail rings. If your scope has an objective lens diameter of 38mm or less then you need the low rings, order this part number: LU49915. They're leupold low dual dovetail rings. If you have a 40-49mm objective scope then you need medium rings part number LU49916, if you have a 50 mm or bigger objective then you need high rings part number LU49918. They're all 20.81 a set.

Leupold rings and burris bases work fine together, they're all a standard size so they're made to interchange. Leupold doesn't make a dual dovetail base for the savage rifles, that's why I recommended the burris bases. By the time you pay the shipping you'll have maybe $42-43 in the whole setup.

If you're capable of changing oil in your car you're capable of mounting a scope using these bases and rings. No need to pay a gunsmith for it just follow the directions on the package. The dual dovetail system is the strongest mounting system made, you'll have no problems with it whatsoever.
