Gentleman we have beat this horse to death, resurrected it and beat it to death again.

My opinion:The 270 will kill elk that is unguestioned, and is a fine cartridge

My choice: I hunt elk with a 338 win mag.

Caveat: My boy shoots a 270 and shoots it well. I would not hesitate to take him on an elk huntwith it. It may be marginal but no more so than him hunting with a magnum that he is scared of.

OBTW I own a 6.5-284 that Ithink would be heep good medicine formr. wapiti.
