RE: Deer Anatomy REVIEW..
I've killedever deer I've shot at(9 out of 9) in my hunting careersimply by"shooting just behind theshoulder". I knew that spot would hit the lungs. I also knew where the heart was. But I DID NOT realize the shoulder bone curved so far forward. I also thought the shoulder blade was directlybehind the "meaty" part of the shoulder. The diagram was aneye opener for me the first time I saw it. Yes I did take hunters education - in 1988 when I was 12 and I remember seeing an anatomy chart of a deer. That was a long time ago. Am I an irresponsible hunter because I learned something from this post? I don't think so - I've killed every deer I've ever shot with one shot. But the diagram made me realize that I've been shooting at the rear third of the lungs thiswhole time. It's workedevery time, butI could have a greater margin for error if Iaimed 2" further forward. Thanks for the post.
