Default Asking for advise here.

Hunting season is coming soon and a lot of you are asking for advise on everything from guns to gadgets you've seen on TV.
-"whats the best deer gun"?
-"whats the best knife"?
-"what type of fill-in-the-blank do you use when hunting"?

The best type of gun is the one that you are most comfortable with and most accurate. There really is no "best" gun or "best" knife etc. Use what you are comfortable with and get as good with it as you possibly can. Don't keep your gear in a closet all year and expect to know what you are doing with it 2 months out of the year.

Asking for advise here will get you a mixed bag. Most of it will be well intentioned but a good amount of it comes from what guys have seen on TV and marketing that goes into the hunting industry.

Do what works for you and dont be afraid of a little trial and error. Absolutly nothing can substitute for time spent in the woods sharpening your skills and no amount of watching hunting shows or reading magazines can replace the hours and days spent honing your craft.

Joining associations and organizations will not make you a hunter, stickers on your truck won't either. You'll just be advertising for free. Buying a particular brand of bow or rifleor camo does not make you part of the "team". It makes you a customer, don't fall prey to marketing.
