Your questions pertain to regulations that are pretty specific to your state or more specifically the gamelands you're planning on hunting.
I did some research into a public land hunt in NC and I'll admit, even after reading through the regs for a few of the areas (and each one has different regs) even I was a bit confused.
Wanna seem really smart to your buddy? Call your DNR or local Warden and ask him those very same questions. Be sure to know which areas you are considering hunting.
