Yes you can. I ordered a Winners Choice string and cable setup for my SQ2 and the cable they sent me was 3/8" too long. I thought, well I can twist the cable to bring it back to spec(a to a, and draw weight) Once I did that, the left side of the cable was very (1/4&quot close to the idler wheel, and after about 50 shots, the top axle started to make a creaking noise from the higher pressure from the left side every time I drew the bow. I talked to WC and they sent me out a new cable that was the correct length and after a few shots the creak went away. By the way, it wasn't WC who sent me the wrong length cable but they replaced it at no cost to me, pretty good customer service if ya ask me.
