7:30 am -Bang for me
Well the first day I've had off myself and off to the hot spot I went. I carried in my 20 gauge and setup in a spot I seen a number of gobblers traveling. Morning light came and the gobbling started. The fog was low and it was hard to see. As I called the gobblers answered and the hunt was on. Being the birds have been queit , I called softly withan Alluminum pot and a cedar striker. Not long I heard a gobbler heading passed my setup an could not see him out about 60 yards. Not 5 minutes later here comes another gobbler sneeking into the setup. Straight at me for some 100 yards and needless to say , I had the gun set and when he walked into the scope at 35 yards , I squeezed off.
19Lbs , 9.5 inch beard , 1 3/8 spurs. This is my special bird as it is going on the wall. This bird makes my 100th bird for myself ! I'm very happy to have a Ocseola to have a full body mount to finish my grandslam mounts...BT
