I started using the DD about 10 years ago...The gun shops around here didn't even stock them...they all used standard, and tried to convince me that they were the way to go...I guess I have put them on 10-12 rifles, Remingtons, Brownings and Rugers...No problem with any of them, the scope had plenty of adjustment, I just feel that the DD are a better/stronger setup...

If you have a WW-II Mauser and had it customized, you might need the added adjustment in the Standard Leupold, but I don't think its necessary
with any modern rifles...I have had some guys say the Standards are better, so you can keep the scope "optically centered"...but they haven't convinced me yet, since a 22-250 doesn't have much recoil the standards should hold up...but I prefer the DD...Good Luck....Enjoy that 22-250...
