Default RE: A Happy Camper Once Again..Hoyt comes through!

Again gentleman, thank you for the thoughtful comments. I do appreciate them.

Just to give you folks an update. I have emailed them and hope to hear something soon.

BT,

Yes, I do agree with you but as the old saying goes..."beggars can't be choosers". I know that it would set a a good example if they did just send me a new model but I really don't expect it. I do remember hearing a very good experience that another gentleman had with them back in the beginning of the summer. They either set him up with a new riser or an entirely new bow. I can't remember which it was though.

For the record....it was actually the 2nd shot at home and the 6th overall shot as both the pro shop owner and myself each shot it twice at the shop to get a feel for it.

Roland,

I was offered the same advice from a good friend and I followed it. I will let you know how things turn out.

PDQ,

Yes, I do feel lucky...especially after seeing those carbon shards sticking out of the cable dampener.

Len,

You know exactly how I feel. Though I have seen it happen once or twice before I have never been the one holding the bow when it occurred.

AC,

I was very pleased with the draw cycle of the normal Cam and a half. It was very smooth to draw especially with the transition into the valley. The best part, in my opinion, was the way the back wall felt just like a typical single cam's back wall. It is difficult to describe.

Bowfanatic,

I will let you know as soon as I see how things are going to play out. Hopefully I will have good news for you shortly.

Siskyou,

The cable slide that was on the bow is a new design for Hoyt. I wasn't too fond of the previous design but this new one looked as if it has potential. If you haven't seen one of the new Hoyt bows yet in person then you really need to. It looks as if they paid an extreme attention to detail on the new models. Just about every little thing on the bow looks to be top notch. That is one reason I was really surprised for this to happen.

Razorhunter,

I do usually use either a Bomar or Sims slide for my bows (couldn't do that with the Epic Extreme...). I will probably try a different style if and/or when this situation is resolved.

NJ,

Thank you. I appreciate it.

Vic,

Considering the setups that you usually put together I would be surprised to hear that this hasn't happened to you yet...

Dacotach,

The arrow was laying between the chrony and the target......so I do feel rather lucky.
