Actually, when scoring typical deer, stickers ( abnormal points ) are not included in the gross score, they go straight to the deduction column. Personally, I think that stickers should just be ignored when scoring typical deer. You know, if they are not going to contribute to the gross score, why subtract them from the net score. The only time an odd point is added to the gross score is when they have an odd number of typical points. 7pt,9pt,11pt...then they get deducted away in the side to side deductions. Basically, a typical deers net score is the smallest side doubled. I myself go by gross score to get a more accurate picture of how big the deer really is.
