Sorry to say, but you're wrong Trembow.Speed of sound is not 700fps, but rather 1,087fps(officially) roughly (depending on air quality/moisture/temp). You are probably thinkingin mph...at which point sound waves travel roughly 770mph.
What does this all mean? A "fast" bow (300+)means very little in terms of a deer's reaction timein response toa sound.
Tell your archery pro shop that next time the build up the speed of a bow they sell. It's great to see their reaction.
Thanks for the correction Pat! Or perhaps I was taking into account the average reaction time for a cervid animal when startled on an overcast day where the ambient temp is 40 degrees and relative humidity at about 60% ? [&:]
