HUNT4ME

My 2bits - I am really leaning to the Speer because of the bonding issue, although shockwaves are suppose to be coming bonded also. The 250 and 300 Gold Dots are .452. The 250 should be an awesome bullet on deer, but it suffers a little in the BC department so it would not score hi if you are shooting extended ranges 150/175 - 200 yards. The 300 has much better BC numbers and will do those long distance shots with out a problem. One avantage to them over the SST/Shockwave is you can buy them in bulk and match them to the sabot that you want to use.

A 230 grain Speer Gold Dot is .451 and would be very effective on deer sized gamealso.

If you are able to load the HPH-24's with a true .452 bullet, you are set. The Speers are listed as .452 but I really think they might be be .4525 - they seem to be just a bit tighter than Hornady's.

It should not be ignored that the XTP's have probably harvested more deer than any other projectile.

I sent some sabots and .458 (45/70) 300 grain rifles bullets to another poster who also shoots an Omega - if he can get then down his barrel that would open another world of bullets to you. I really am hoping he has success with them.

Good luck in your quest for your shooting combination.
