One of the reasons why I don't buy stuff from remington anymore- they tend to perpetuate rediculous urban legends. A foster slug shot from a smoothbore shotgun might not penetrate a bulletproof vest, but will likely push the vest all the way back until it touches the wearers spine- dead is dead whether it penetrates or not. We won't even mention shotgun and muzzleloader saboted bullets.

A standard 30-06 bullet will penetrate everything up to level IV body armor on its own.
