that's the last thing that i would take. too heavy. ya.. i know guys have seen and shot them from tree stands but they werejust lucky to be in the right spot at the right time. you are pretty much on the move all daywhen you are hunting these. you would be spending all your time going up and down trees. the more areas you try, the better your odds are. and believe me your odds arenot very high to start with. i carry the lightest gun and backpack i have when we are out. after 6 or 8 hours of walking and calling everything gets heavy. hunting coyotes makes deer and turkey hunting look easy. good luck though.
