RE: Which is better?
I've never hunted with shotgun slugs, but my Dad has killed a bunch of deer with 20 guage slugs before switching to muzzleloading. He always used a Remington Wingmaster made in the late '60's with a 28" fixed full choke barrel, and would regularly make shots out to 75 yards with Remington Slugger rifled slugs.
I've heard improved is better for slugs, but I've never seen shooting data to support this (which doesn't mean it doesn't exist).
If you have a full choke tube/barrel, I'd just try grouping it to see if the accuracy met with your expectations. If not, switch to inproved and see if accuracy improves.
