I would say that you're fine. I actually harvested an 8 point this year and when I got up to him, he still hadn't quite expired. He gave me this really strange look. I kept trying to get a quick shot to finish him off and he kept spinning on the ground when I had my gun raised. It took me a little while, but I got over it. I thanked God afterwards, said a little prayer of thanks to God and to the buck himself. I definitely would shoot them with a camera until you're ready to shoot them with a gun again.
