I have a personal standard [for bucks] of 8 points or better and mature. I've been hunting specifically for that kind of buck for the last 3 weeks and never had anything of that calibre that came in and would allow me a shot. The weather was the primary culprit IMO and that will change since I go back to work tonight.

The thing I did do differently was to shoot does. I took 4 of them in the early season to fill my freezer. I would suggest the same to you . . . after the rut of course.
