I always try to envision what's going on when you hear those shots. like the single shots-did they drop the deer or only get one shot? or one shot and a follow up 10-15 seconds later-two hits? and then theres the 3-10(i counted 10 shots last year on one burst, must have been shooting an AR or SKS) outburts, where the guy must have missed terribly. Last year i heard a lot of shooting opening day on our neighbor's land and i hadn't seen anything worth shooting yet, so i was really worried. turns out the neighbor guy had just got a new revolver and took it out to play with in the woods, must have been just stump shooting with it his wife said. here i was convinced i was doing something wrong.
