Default RE: Powder Picky........what do you think?

Although your White Mountain Carbine might well shoot pellets, because of the #11 spark they are not intended to do so because they do not get the most efficient ingnition that way. Stick with the loose powder and the #11 cap. Shoot the rifle the way the manufacturer wanted you to and you will not have troubles or disappointments.

If you're going to shoot an inline in the future, then again it will shoot pellets but there really is no advantage in doing so. Shoot loose powder. Save yourself lots of money. Pyrodex, Triple Se7en, BM3, APP, Pinnacle, all of them have advantages and disadvantages. Pyrodex RS should shoot just fine in your percussion capped White Mountain Carbine. It will also shoot excellent in your future inline if you really feel the need for one. Triple Se7en will also give you great results and more power. The others mentioned are less fowling but some are saying that they attract moisture. I have never been able to lay my hands of the BM# so I have no experience with that powder.

Like Roundball, I also buy my powder by the case. I get a better price and can have the kind of powder I like which is Goex. Whenall the powder wars are said and done, there are few of them that shoot as well as Goex does in all of my rifles. Granted it might fowl a little more and take more efforts to clean then some of the new powders... OK, I accept this fact. It is not a big deal to me.
