Well for me the 7mm was an awesome step up from the 270WSM. Of course, I went with a 7mm Weatherby Magnum Mark V euromark (used but like new for $790.00. It is the best gun I have evr owned. I hunt BIG COUNTRY however so the strengths of this gun play right into the area. Nice and heavy, well balanced 26" barrel and flat as a pancake for Muleys and whitetail out to 400 yards easily. Ammo is expensive, but I reloading soon.
