My father and grandfather played equal parts in getting me involved in the sport. They are both good hunters, but I have developed a passion for deer hunting that surpasses theirs. While they enjoy getting out in the woods to relax, and maybe even see some deer on occasion, for me it is an obsession. While I hate to use the word "better", I have been more consistent at taking deer than any of my family members, and have taken bigger bucks as well. A lot of that has to do with time spent in the woods. I will sacrifice almost anything to be in the woods as much as possible during the season, while my father, uncle, and cousin have good jobs that take priority. My grandfather would be right out there with me all the time if he could still get around like he used to. He does get out some though, and enjoys every moment of it.
