My father and step-father taught me to hunt. I'm probably better than either one now, but they grew up during the depression, when there weren't deer and they learned as adults. My advantage is that I started hunting when I was 6 and have had 40 years to learn.
On the other hand, my brother in law who also helped me learn is better than I am. He started hunting in the early 60s and has had a few more years to learn than me. But, I'm catching up with him.
