BLR's are definetly a great lever gun. Like you said they use a rotating bolt head. This is actually a better design than the Marlin or Winchester as it locks from the front of the bolt rather than having a locking block rise up in the rear of the bolt. This type of locking system can withstand much higher chamber pressures and more "extreme" cartridges than the typical cartridges that lever guns use. Such as the WSM family of cartridges. It is also inherently a more accurate design than the others.

They also use a very smooth gear driven lever system to cycle the bolt. Very few moving parts inside the gun when compared to the other levers out there. However if you take one apart you must make sure you get the gears put back together right or the gun won't work.
