But just to set things straight, I'm sure there are a lot of "sports" out there that couldn't tell you what side of the planet the sun rises on, and are better off tethered to a guide.
For me however, I"ve been around a few years and know the whitetail well, and I have been turned around enough times to learn how to use my compass.
So, If you are uncomfortable in the big woods, grab a tether.
If you have your confidence, get some new batteries for your GPS and two compasses and turn your head into the woods.
