Default RE: Whats the best paint for a riflestock camo job??

As it is right now I have a model 70 with a black synthetic stock. It's the Winchest factory stock, nothing special. Well, I hate the looks of the rifle and basically want to change the appearance. I found one site link where a guy used Krylon stone texture paint and the stocks he did look pretty good. So I basically followed his directions and here's what took place:

I basically just rough sanded the entire stock with 120 grit paper and apply Krylon primer. Then I added multiple coats of Rustoleum Stone paint. Then a final 6 light coats of Krylon clear matte. If I were to do this again I might jsut shoose a paint color and make the stock smooth as this stone paint takes FOREVER to dry. It's just really thick and as would be expected should take some additional time to dry, but the can said 4 hours and I waited at least 8 between coats and it was still a touch tacky. I let it dry hard for 3 days before applying the clear coat just last afternoon. All in all I think it looks pretty good and it's definetly got some texture to it. I'm happy with it so far, but I should have opened up the barrel channel more as it's not quite floating anymore. If this stock doesn't keep the rifle shooting like it was(average 5/8 MOA) then it's a new stock from Boyds!

On to the pics!
