ks - The trick to hunting the Jacks with a single shot rifle is patience... LOTS of patience. I have fired at jacks only 4 shots since about last October. 3 kills. You have to follow them in your scope, and wait until they finally stop, which may be a while, or may be right away. The heavier the cover they are in, the faster they will stop. The longest shot I have ever taken on a jack hasn't been much more than about 200 yds. The one in the pic, and the two I have gotten this spring have been no longer than 50 yds. I shot at a lot last year, I missed a lot (close to 20 rounds, only 3 in one trip last summer). I finally realized that I was not taking my time, and found that it was much easier to relax and wait, and you could get more rabbits with fewer misses.
