Set your range for variety. Minimum of 5 yds difference on each target. More whenever possible.
Place targets at yardage outside what is expected. Short or long.
The perception that we use averages when setting a range is not really accurate. We set what we find using the target list, terrain and conditions. We are looking for something that you see that is not there.

Cause some eights maybe even a five, but give em back their arrows. That's the plan.
