Hey Team,
Sorry but I have been working alot this week and haven't been able to post any progress. Went out Wednesday morning after working all night. Got to the farm about 8:30 and glassed 3 toms and 8 hens in the back fields. I set up about 20 yards inside the tree line where I just knew they were heading. Well wouldn't you know, them suckers decided to cut down the main path heading back towards the river. Well I made a quick dash thru the woods and and got set up just in time for them to come around the bend. I hit the slate with a couple clucks and two yelps and that was all it took. All 3 gobbled but the big tom took the lead and never looked back. I let him get about 25 yards and that was the last time he saw daylight.

Eastern
21 pounds 3 ounces, 1 inch right, 1 1/8 inch left, 12 inch beard= 66.4375

I have tommorrow off so I am going to try and go out in the morning. I will try to post the pics I took from Wednesday when I get back. Good Luck and Safe Hunting!

By the way, if my math is right that should take us to third place in the team standing unless someone else has not entered their bird. I guess I need to get those pics in to make it official.

Congrats Rockby! What a great bird! Can't wait to see the pics.

Rained again Sunday morning, so didn't get out then, but it did clear off into a perfectafternoon so we headed out to check out a couple new spots. After hiking 417 miles (or what seemed like 417 miles)into the woods and through muddy plowed fields, we finally decided on a spot. Got set up, but didn't see nothing. Heard some yelping way off in the distance, but nothing came in. There is always next weekend....I'm crossing my fingers for NO RAIN!!

well tomorrow morning is the day! from my uncles scouting report there is 2 really nice toms out in the fields every night, 3 smaller toms, and 4 jakes. Hope fully they are also there in the mornings as well. At 4:45 pm tonight there was 1 tom in the field and now my uncle is in bed and i dont know if the rest of them came out tonight.

good luck "zmschillin." lay the smack down!

it looks like we are going to have a great weekend in kansas "kshunterchick". no wind, 80 degree days, should wake up to hundreds of gobbles.

so far our kill count is at 13 toms. i am going to start trying to sneak my own hunting in somewhere, i have 3 giant toms spotted that i am saving for myself and my partner.

I sure hope you are right about the weather vmartin! I'm seriously thinking about playing hookie from work on Friday to do some hunting! Hunting Saturday is out due to a wedding....(who gets married during turkey season anyway???) But come Sunday.....it's GAME ON! (unless of course it rains....)
