This turkey I killed was roosted on the banks of the Mississippi River in extreme NW Tennessee - the Missouri bootheel is less than 1 mile away across the river. In fact, that bird could likelysee Missouri from the roost.

I have hunted a lot in Missouri. A group of us would hunt the Mark Twain west of Poplar Bluff for several years in a row. I haven't been back in a while mainly because ourturkey flockhere in Tennessee is at an all time high. No reason for me to go anymore, other than to enjoy the culture of course.

missouri luckily for now has the highest population with almost a half million birds. we have had a couple of bad hatches lately though. we used to be over the half million mark. thats one of the main reasons i agree with only being able to hunt till 1 pm. and the low limit on harvest. this is the only reason we are able to keep our high pop. Its hard to believe that not very long ago missouri barely had any turkey at all.

NW tennesse that shouldnt have been to far from east prairie,Mo. i have gotten to hunt KY but never TN. hope to one day.

New Madrid, MO is directly across the river from where I grew up in Tiptonville, TN (Reelfoot Lake). I was a little further southacross fromCarruthersville where the bridge is.

I saw that MO. How much snow did ya get. Hope it goes away fast. I dont want any short beards on my turkeys. Dont want those beards to break off from it being cold.

Sounds a lot like Hoosier weather up and down. But when Arrow and I get out there the hunting is gonna be hot cause we are gonna light those MO birds up!

the hunting may be hot but you might be freezing. i was thinking it might be fun to try and kill a turkey you cant see in the snow.
