Was out at my property last weekend shed hunting and did not see any turkeys. Someone had recently been in the area (boot prints) and there were no sheds no deer and no turkeys (OK, I jumped one big Tom). The field I'm on is a cut beanfield and I'm thinking I should hunt another property that still has standing corn. What say you all?

Thanks Junkie!
I was out at the hunt club yesterday with my friend/mentor. Struck up some gobbles at 2:30pm. Went right at them and set up, no decoy. Couldn't risk being out in the open. Our season has not started yet but since this is a hunt club with released birds it serves as a good tune-up. They were gobbling to all my calls 30yds away behind the thickest brush you could imagine. Then they moved. I hadn't seen themyet. Then all went quiet. At 5pm I decided to go home and was half way to my truck when my buddy callsthat they just started gobbling again. I hurry back and we set up but they woudn't come. I decided to move on them and got close. I couls see them on a high RR embankment on the tracks. We knew there were 3 birds that were released and not harvested. I counted 8 on the tracks, and the lead bird was at least 25#. I can't wait to get back out there an Fri. We have an ambush set up planned. BTW, the tracks themselves are off-limits, they'll have to come down to the swamp. They like those tracks cuz the trains often spill some grain alongside of em.
Wish me luck!

The good news is I just aquired a property for the regular season with standing corn and 80ac of woods. Might have to resight the bow!
