One week from today I finally get to head out and start slaying. I'm looking forward to this season more than any other in the past, just so we can shut these other chumps up. We will conquer Arrow and his flock of hens, with ease. They will bow to us with great respect! haha

If yall haven't read SwampCollie's thread in the turkey hunting forum called "thoughts on working birds", READ IT sometime before you start the season. It's an excellent thread and really gets your mind right on what you should look to do in the woods. I just read the entire thing, took me 10 minutes or so, and I know it's gonna help me get my head where it needs to be to elminate some of those stupid mistakes and kill more birds. I dont care how much you know, think you know, or how many birds you've killed, its a great post. READ IT!!!!!

SouthStrut~~ I think I might have to go read that! I am glad I am on a team with all you diehard turkey huntin fools!!! I feel out of place, I am into turkey hunting but dont feel up to par with ya fellows! I will have more time this year when the season starts to try and get a bird or two on the ground, but right now my heart is in trout fishing!!!!
I cant even begin to think about turkey huntin yet knowing that there are streams full of rainbows, brookies and browns waiting for me to come along and pull em out of the water!!

I will be more involved with the team here in a month or so when my season starts but for now I am sorry for not participating as much as ya'll...so for now you guys keep our team thread at the top and show the other teams who will be winning this thing this year!!!

I hear ya, I'm gonna try and do a little more bream fishin' this spring, I love fightin with those jokers. Never been trout fishing, but I've got a few buddies who go up to Tennessee every year and wade around. They love it, I need to give it a shot one day. But my first passion is slammin turkeys, there's nothing like it for me. But yeah, read that post about working birds, it's VERY informative. It could be and SHOULD be published in a magazine. Good luck fishing, and we'll keep Team 10 in the hunt for first until you can get out there!

Southern, you are getting ready to start and I saw my first strutter of the year this morning on my way to work. Sure made it tought to stay focused today. Talked with one of my buddy's and he had birds gobbling behind his house this morning. I might have to get up and start listening but I am afraid it will ruin me. My season doesn't start until April 20th. However my boy gets to hunt in TX the last weekend in March and then the following weekend here in MO. Hopefully he can get 2 on the ground before I ever start. I get to hunt Nebraska the 16-19 and drive like heck to get home to hunt hear. Good luck team, I think we will shine in this contest.

Glad to have ya on our team Paintbrush. Well my season starts on the last weekend of this month. Hopfully soon ill start going out to a local park and start my calling practice.
