Man Winter Kill hit my area hard again this yr for 2 yrs in a row!

4 sections - or 4 square miles - and only 2 gobbles from the roost! 2 perfect mornigns inthe row the day aferr even warmer than the day before and still only 2 gobbles from the roost!

and tht is all I saw 2 toms each with a few hens.......cover field late int he day before roost time whre I normally can find brids feeding before roost and saw 1 dang hen in 8 square miles......

Not good!

My Wisc season may be over before it started as I do have 4, 5, & 6 season tags but with no birds am wondering even is I shold hunt!

Leave for Mich for the 4/20 opener - do know that is better from the AT& T scouting reports.

Any luck this weekend gentlemen? I went home for the weekend and got some trigger time with my turkey gun. drove around a little but didn't see that many birds. Talked to some guys down at the bow shop and they think the bird numbers are pretty good overall though. Most guys have also been seeing a lot of early breeding activity. Hopefully that means by opening day a lot of hens will be on the nest already and those gobblers will be lonely. Anyways, just wanted to see how you guys made out

Got out and seen some birds. Weather was crappy though with a ton of rain. I did see a hen with a 10" plus beard though. Headed out again this weekend.

hadn't hear a gobble the last 2 weeks. seen plenty of gobbler tracks. it seems that way on private land or public land. the management land i hunt has only had 9 birds checked in. last year there was close to 50....tony

My father just texted me a few minutes ago. He's hunting down in Kentucky and shot a whopper! he said it was 25 lbs with 10.5 inch beard and 1 3/8 spurs. He is hunting on a friend's property who is a huge deer hunter but couldn't care less about turkey hunting, so his place is crawling with some huge birds.

wow... 25lb is huge.. that would be a state record out here...
Avg tom here is around 18lb ish... anything over 20lb is considered HUGE...
I have taken a few between 20 and 21.5#... that is my biggest...
