Haha, you are awful thoughtful to give them a warning shot before you level them. Speaking of which those broadheads make a nasty hole - wow! Does it get the meat all blood shot or is it far enough back to avoid the breasts? I've never shot one with a bow, i think getting one with a 12 gauge is hard enough as it is without handicapping myself haha.

will fill in the story when I get home - it is a doozy! but the way I look at it - three days of hunting here - could have shot a Jake on Day 1 & 2 and shot this on Day 3! Wow!

so far what a trip - was 2 for 3 from Georgia
Am 1 for 4 in TN so far but could have been 3 for 4 in 3 days.....
Shot the Jakes but you will see they all are still walking!

23# 6 oz
spurs 1 1/8, & 5/8s (broke off!)
beard 10 7/8"
Your score is 23.375 + 11.25 + 6.25 + 21.75 = 62.625

As I drove home I got to thinking -

I could have filled all 3 kills in Georgia!
I could have filled all 4 kills in Tenessee!

I have never done that - I only took the big birds.....In both states I had JakesI could have shot less than 20 yards from me - I did shout them so to speak - I took picutres to which I will post soon. Wow what a hunt!

Good point MO - but I made a pack long ago to let Jakes walk.........not being a purist - just is my type of hunting and I have been made a fool several times in both GA and TN - worked a few who which....well.......hehe...they won!

Even had one drummin right behind me no more than 20 yds......to which I never saw.......

I made a similar pact as well. a couple years ago I had what was proly a mature tom in front of me. actually walked over me. gobbles right behind me and then walks right past my tree to get to my dekes. only had a 3-4 inch beard so i let him walk. now that i look back the way he was acting he may just not have had a good beard. but oh well. i killed him the next year and he was almost 10 inches long. glad I waited.

One reason I like em close as I go by spurs - they pointy and long - don't give a rip about the beard!
