Congrats colbea! I've got two weeks left of my season and the family is out of town for the rest of the week which means I can hunt evenings! I'll be trying to get out in the morning and evening and some lunch breaks as I have an area behind work to hunt.

Thanks everyone. I have until the end of May to upgrade. The sadest words I've read in a long time, " my season is over."

Well guys.... I missed!!!!!!!! If you want a specific article then search the turkey hunting section of the forum and find the one with the long title. But just to sum things up... Friday night I had a hen come in and the gobblers were already near their roost. They would always respond to my calls but never come in. Saturday morning the came in but they walked straight towards me so I couldn't pull back. They walked up to my jake decoy then turned around and walked away and I couldn't get a good positioned shot until they were 36 yards (I stepped it off, after I missed). Sadly I didn't know how far they were exact so I aimed at 40 (my closest prediction from where we were). The arrow went right over the back.

Sadly I got this all on video tape which means my first opportunity at a turkey is a miss and its going to haunt me forever. But ohwell, I had a blast. I got to hunt with my mom on mothers day. It was quite a fun time.
