hunting is now a memory but the coming hunting season is on all of
our minds heralded in by the anticipation that this may be the year
of the trophy, or the best hunting season yet.
One factor to begin working on right now is the skill of shot
placement ( see www.shotplacement.com ) . Notice I say this is
a learned skill. Very few of us when starting out in our hunting
endeavors knew much about shot placement other than what we were
told by the people who were teaching us to hunt. Yet this skill
is the most important in putting any game animal on the ground
humanely and as fast as possible.
Practice and develop this skill well and you will
find that you will lose fewer animals, the game will be harvested
in a more humane manner, and even less meat will be spoiled by

In
2003 Wisconsin narrowly voted against a permanent baiting and
feeding ban contrary to the advice from the department of natural
resources.
In
a special session meeting the Natural Resources Board unanimously
voted in favor of a feeding and baiting ban to include 23 counties
where CWD has been found in captive and wild deer and counties
that are within ten miles of these areas. The rest of the state
has a ten gallon baiting limit and unlimited deer feeding.
