The
month of July……………….
|
back
to top |
Ahhhhhhhhhh!! Summer is in full bloom, it is a time of picnics, swimming,
and a time to get plenty of sun.
For us hunters, it is one more month
that we count down before the greatest time of year, that
being hunting
season. Actually July is a
great month to hunt. Now is the time to put a pair of binoculars
in the old truck and begin cruising near the areas where you
hunt or better
yet, pull the truck up on a high hill and sit and observe your
hunting area.
July can be a great time to observe deer
movement on the property
where you hunt as well as getting a look at the various deer
that inhabit the area. Is there a good balance of the doe
to buck ratio? How many mature
bucks have you seen, and how many does? Where are their travel
routes and bedding areas? Where do they enter the feeding
fields? These
are all key factors that will come into play when it comes time
to take the bow or gun out.
Now is a good time to take out a
.22 and start doing some plinking and accuracy practice for your
upcoming gun needs. Squirrel hunting
is only a month away for most of us and this type of hunting
can be invaluable for honing our hunting senses for whitetails,
not to mention
some great table fare.
July is also a great time to take
out the bow and do some stump shooting, again honing your
bowhunting skills by picking out certain stumps
or targets as you walk through the woods. You will find your shooting
senses will come alive and be tuned in when season arrives
not to mention arm conditioning for you bow hunters.
Have
a great July, but don’t forget hunting season is just
around the corner, be ready!

Mystery
Creature Lurks In Baltimore County
GLYNDON, Md. -- A mystery animal is on the loose in Baltimore
County and not even the experts can pin down what it is.
A Glyndon man found a way to secretly record the beast while it
grazed in his yard. For a while it was just lurking in the woods
watching the Wroe family until the Wroes started watching it.

| Tip
of the Month…….. |
back
to top |
If
you've never used calls before, try going out during the spring
and early summer. Use a lost fawn call. Watch how the does react
to the call. Not only will the mother does come in, but any doe
will. They all have that protective instinct built into them.
One
of the nice things about lost fawn calls, is there is no certain
way to use it. Picture this; if a human baby is in trouble, it's
going to cry as loud and as long as possible. Fawns are no different.
So if you make those sounds with the call you will have great success
using it. Note the body language of the adult deer you will learn
a lot in a short while.

| Are
you trying to find a great whitetail
hunt for the fall? Maybe you’re
planning a turkey hunt for next spring? Perhaps you are just looking
for a place to go sometime in the distant future?
Deciding
where to hunt can be easy when you are provided with the right
kind of
information.
Our material is designed to help you evaluate
our hunt. You have questions. We have answers. But we have some questions
for you, too. Are you planning a trip for this fall? Or maybe for
a future year? How large is your party? What dates work best for
you? Have you
ever hunted in Texas?
Contact us anytime. We have what most hunters are looking for. If
our hunt is right for you, we want
you
to hunt with us. Without a doubt, your best source for information
is our references. We have a bunch of ‘em. But we are most
proud of the fact that over half our hunters each year are repeats.
We
recently opened a brand
new camp, and still have a few openings left
for deer hunting this fall, and openings
for turkey hunting next spring. It’s not
too early to be planning for a 2005 deer hunt. The earlier you
book, the better your choice of dates.
