Default Whats with Harry Potter?

Im not trying to offend anyone at all, but i dont get it. All of my friends wont shut up about the new Harry Potter book. Now, readings great and all, but is there somethin all that great about it. I saw one of the movies against my free will(actually i didnt watch the movie, my lord was she talented)but anyways, i just dont see it. Now, granted i look forward to the New Petersons Bowhunting magazine to get here, but to order something 2 months in advance and then sit and read 900 pages in a day? Wow, someone please tell me whats goin on here.

Brain washing - simply put... The book takes you away to a far away place, it makes you feel like youre there. You become Harry, or perhaps one of his infamous friends Ron and Hermione. The more you read the further it pulls you in. It gives you a sense of false security, nothing bad can happen to you at the magical castle at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizadry... When you finish the book you sit there and think " Wow" ... You want to read them over and over again (I' m sure that the children out there who have read it once, have read it so many times they can recite to you whole chapters). Personally I read them just to see what all the hype was about, I wasnt all that into the magical hokus pokus that it tried so hard to create. Im not against the books, the movies, the trading cards, the back packs, etc... Its just another " Pokemon" .. It will soon die down, have no fear, it will be gone. Just my two cents [:-]

Clancy fan myself, but, the books are really imaginative, and pretty well written. Can' t hold a candle to Redwall of course, but still pretty damn good. I' m reading the fifth right now, and am very into the plot by now.

Clancy is much bettter than JK Rowling will ever be. How come nobody reads Robert Ruark, Peter Capstick, Ernest Hemmingway, or Jack O' Connor? Those guys are the best, the true literary classics. All of them have great articles and books.
