Eglin Airforce BaseFL or Richmand GA

has anyone ever hunted at Eglin Airforce base in Florida? Before I spend 40.00 dollars on this permit I'd like to get some imformation. Or Richmand Hill in Georgia. The management area in my neck of the woods stink.Out of 5000 hunters only 18 deer killed. I was lucky with a bleat call.

chuck, my brother in law hunts it regularly and has had great success there- there are some monsters in Eglin. Are you in the Gulf Coast?

LOTS of people hunting on Eglin. If you don't like crowds, the middle of the week would be better.

No sir,
I'm from Lakeland which is central Florida. I was their during a war game in 1976. I had a powerful religious experience there while in the field for 30 days. I've been doing research about Eglin and it appears to be one of the top 3 spots in FL. The people in charge said anyone can hunt there for 40.00 a season. She also said only the 1st day may be full. One unit the buck has to be 6 points or bigger.

I'm a school teacher so I will take your advice and hunt the middle of the week. Being a year round school I get the entire month of October off. Thanks so much for responding.
