Default Harvest progress?

Hey folks this may be a bit off topic but i am just curious as to how much harvesting has been completed south of the border. Here in Sask we have had some nasty cold and wet weather, sun shines for 2 days then rains. As a result farmers here are way behind schedule and we are now at the panic stage. If things don't shape up here soon there will be alot of crop left out over winter. How are things to the south?

Well here in s.e. minnesota they are just starting to take out some of the soybeans, but the way the corn looks it might be mid november until its all gone. I like the corn when i am bow hunting, but when gun season rolls around the second weekend of nov. it really sucks.[:@] good luck.

In Central NY -- there has not been a frost yet (Sept 24th) which is kind of late. Most crops are still green because it was such a wet summer, and many farmers were delayed getting their crops in.

Farmers have had a tough time with hay drying, or even getting it cut due to a very wet summer. If the fall stays dry, and the frost holds off another weeks or two - most farmers will get a good harvest on corn. Soybeans aren't as common here, but those that I've seen are taller than normal.

Farmers in De;aware have been into corn for over 3 weeks, some beans are getting ready to cut probably next week, We are getting a corn crop and a half , farm average for a thousand acres is over 200 b/a, many fields doing much better than that. We had some Dekalb. asgrow test plots that went almost 250.... It is awfully dry here so working late hours, expect some rain here Tues and Wed from Jeannette... Then to planting Wheat...

Here in east central Illinois they are going like crazy. One of the earliest harvest I came remember. Should be a great fall, glad I got my food plots planted.

We finally got rolling on harvest this weekend, about 2-3 weeks behind schedule. The crops did looked really good unitl a frost hit about the middle of august. All of our wheat got cooked and some of the canola was badly damaged. Wheat is running pretty good but its aweful looking stuff, definate feed wheat. Won't be too much #1 wheat coming out of sask this year cause the frost was fairly widespread across the province. Yes things are really rollin now got the crop to take off, 2nd cut alfalfa to bale, and straw to bale. Its us farmers vs the snow. Hopefully we can hold on for a few more weeks.

here in northern Minnesota, a few of us are just starting to get into our corn fields. It's been a cold year here also, with a killing frost in early august this year. I think it'll be several weeks before majority of corn is harvested in my area. Taz

Southern Il.

Uncles got about week left (does about 2800 acres). And its indeed a very early and very good year. My grandpa died in '97 and my uncle mentioned today that he never wouldn've believed 60 bushel beans from his land.
