RE: Record Keeping
Have you a spreadsheet on your computer? The best way to keep track of Your observations, plots etc. is set up a spreadsheet, using a date log. Work one up, customize it to your on requirements. I use Micosoft Office and actually keep a log of my daily activities. As I am retired, most of my time is dedicated to work around the farm, be it making plots fixing fence or any of the things that need doing. In my Excel program I designate a separate sheet for each month. and name it "2004 Log" I have files back to 1983. I also made a rough drawing of my farm, where I do most of my hunting. in the Paint program. I number my food plots, mark my trails and just about any landmark can be put in it. Use a black symbol to show where deer were sighted, a red symbol to show a kill. A cross marks a rub, a little box marks a scrape. Just use your imagination. And when you get it set up, it is a custom application for you only. You've got a computer, play with it.
