Default State Laws

What are your states laws for "pests"? What if those pests are animals with a season?

I doubt any state still classifies any wildlife as a "pest". Most shootable wildlife species are managed as game species and have a set season. That season may be all year round (such as coyotes) but they are managed as game animals.

"Pest" is a rather amorphous term. Deer getting in your garden may be considered "pests" but the state manages them as game animals and there would be no special regulations or whatnot on "pests".

But I'm sure it varies from state to state. Hell, even crows have a season in some states. Best thing to do would be to check with your game department.

I'm actually curious about YOUR state laws, just to compare. I know what my states laws are.

I guess in Texas hogs, coyotes, bobcats, mountain lions, praire dogs, raccon, possum, are all considered "pests". Down here "pests" dont have a closed season or a bag limit, which means you can hunt them 365 24/7 if you want to and can take as many as you want.

Um, well I pretty much gave you the run down for what ALL the states laws are.

There is no such thing as "pests" under a state law as far as I know. Wildlife is either managed for people to hunt or as non-game wildlife.
