I have an old water conditioner tank that I cut the top off of and attached a 3" pvc pipe to the bottom of. It holds 50 pounds of feed and it's top is covered by a bucket bottom. I have mine camoflaged to look like a tree so it blends in with the tree I attach it to. It's cheap, durable and works. I have my pipe running vertical with no angle to it and the feed runs out perfectly allowing more to dump when the deer and turkeys eat what is at the opening. The squirrels love to dig out the corn and only eat the hearts out of the kernals so I suggest investing in some 22's and do some pop. control on them for as long as you can, every one you shoot will be replaced by another one or two.

It will work, but when the coons find it they will almost empty the barrel in a few nights. They won't eat it all, just dig it out and crap on it......

Nice drawing, by the way. I think it will work fine. Coons will be denned up this time of year anyway. Deer will love it.

I started using feeders this past summer, and decided to build feeders with feeder kits to get the deer to visit them during daylight hours and save money on corn. I built 2 feeders this past summer for alot cheaper than I could have bought them, it took less than an hour to build and they have worked great.
55 gallon drum = free
American Hunter photo cell feeder kit from Ebay = $20.50
American Hunter leg bracket kit from TSC = $15.00
American hunter stainless steel lid from TSC = $15.00
Three 7 foot stainless steel fence post's from Lowes = $24.00
Total = $74.50

what kinda camera are you using? The pictures seem really good. How is the battery life in cold weather?
